Terms of Service
Last updated November 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Scrynova platform, website and related services (the “Service”) by organizations and their authorized users. Candidates who complete interviews through the Service do so at the invitation of an employer and are not required to accept these Terms; their information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using the Service on behalf of an organization (“Customer”, “you”), you agree to these Terms and confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Accounts and workspaces
- Each Customer receives a private workspace. You are responsible for the accuracy of registration information, for all activity under your workspace, and for the users you invite and the roles you assign.
- Keep credentials confidential and enable multi-factor authentication where appropriate. Notify us promptly at support@scrynova.com of any unauthorized access.
- The billing country selected at registration determines your subscription currency.
3. Free trial
Eligible new Customers receive a free trial (currently three days) subject to the trial usage allowances disclosed on our pricing page. One trial per organization. No payment is required to start a trial and you will not be charged when it ends unless you explicitly activate a paid subscription. When the trial ends without activation, publishing, new interviews and new evaluations are paused; existing data is retained according to the retention policy.
4. Subscription and billing
Availability. The Service is offered to businesses worldwide, except in countries and regions subject to comprehensive sanctions or embargoes under Canadian, U.S., U.K., E.U. or United Nations law, and to persons on applicable sanctions lists. You represent that you are not located in, organized under the laws of, or acting on behalf of such a jurisdiction or person.
- Plans and pricing. Subscriptions are offered on Starter, Professional and Business plans, each with the features and usage limits described on our pricing page. Subscriptions are priced per organization based on the plan selected and the Customer's billing country. Monthly prices are: Starter — USD $8 in the United States and CAD $10 in Canada; Professional — USD $29 and CAD $39; Business — USD $79 and CAD $99. Customers in other countries are billed in their local currency at the price shown at registration and on our pricing page (converted from the plan's USD price), or in US dollars where local-currency billing is not available. Prices exclude applicable taxes unless otherwise agreed in writing. The price and currency that apply to you are displayed before you activate a subscription.
- Authorization and renewal. By activating a subscription you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method monthly in advance. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from Subscription & Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails we will notify you and retry. If payment is not received within a reasonable grace period we may restrict paid features.
- Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice of price changes, which take effect at your next renewal.
- Taxes. Fees exclude taxes. Applicable value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST/HST/PST/QST), sales tax and similar taxes are calculated at checkout based on your billing location and are your responsibility. Where reverse-charge rules apply, you are responsible for self-assessing tax.
- Currency. Your billing currency is set by your billing country at registration. Your bank or card issuer may apply its own foreign-exchange or cross-border fees.
5. Usage allowances
Plans include allowances for active job postings, interview submissions, recording minutes, screening evaluations, storage and team members, as disclosed on the pricing page and in your workspace. When an allowance is reached, related features may pause until the next billing period. Additional plans or usage-based pricing may be offered separately.
6. Employer responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your recruitment practices and hiring decisions and for complying with all laws that apply to them, including human rights and anti-discrimination laws, employment standards, accessibility laws (such as the AODA and the ADA), privacy laws, and laws regulating automated employment decision tools or recorded video interviews (for example New York City Local Law 144 and the Illinois Artificial Intelligence Video Interview Act). In particular you agree to:
- ask only lawful, job-related questions and not request information about protected characteristics;
- provide any notices, obtain any consents and conduct any bias audits required in your jurisdiction, in addition to the notices Scrynova displays;
- provide reasonable accommodations and alternative processes to candidates who request them;
- use candidate information only for recruitment purposes and respond to candidates' privacy requests;
- have a lawful basis to contact candidates you invite through the Service.
7. Automated screening
Screening results, scores, transcripts and suggested questions are generated automatically and may contain errors. They are provided to assist human review and are not hiring decisions, recommendations to hire or reject, or predictions of job performance. You must not use the Service to make decisions about candidates based solely on automated results, and you remain responsible for reviewing evidence and making final decisions. You agree not to configure or use the Service to evaluate candidates on protected characteristics.
8. Acceptable use
You will not: use the Service for unlawful, deceptive or discriminatory purposes; post fraudulent job listings; upload malware; attempt to access other Customers' data or circumvent security or usage limits; reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law; resell the Service without our consent; or use it to harass candidates or send unsolicited bulk messages.
9. Data and confidentiality
As between the parties, you own the content you and your candidates submit (“Customer Data”). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit and display Customer Data to provide and secure the Service. We process candidate personal information as your service provider, only on your documented instructions and as described in our Privacy Policy, and we implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards. Each party will protect the other's confidential information with reasonable care. You may export or delete Customer Data during your subscription; after termination it is deleted according to our retention policy.
10. Intellectual property
Scrynova and its licensors own the Service, software, brand and documentation. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription. Feedback you provide may be used without obligation.
11. Availability and support
We aim to keep the Service available and performant and provide email support during business hours. We may perform scheduled maintenance and modify features, provided we do not materially reduce core functionality of a paid subscription during its current term.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend access immediately if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or if your use poses a security or legal risk. Either party may terminate for material breach not cured within 15 days of notice. You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time.
13. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that screening outputs are accurate, complete or suitable for any employment decision.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue or data. Each party's total liability arising out of these Terms is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply to your payment obligations, your indemnity obligations, or liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Scrynova against third-party claims arising from your job postings, recruitment practices, hiring decisions, Customer Data, or breach of these Terms or applicable law.
16. Governing law
For Customers billed in Canada, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. For Customers billed in the United States, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. For Customers billed in any other country, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Courts in the applicable jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction, except that nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer or data-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country, and either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
17. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order or addendum, are the entire agreement between the parties. We may update these Terms with notice; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. Notices to Scrynova should be sent to legal@scrynova.com.
This document is provided as a working draft and will be reviewed by legal counsel before commercial launch.
